IT IS PARAISO. Or at least, during off-peak season. Chancing upon a sunny long weekend during the rainy days COULD BE the key to enjoying the Caramoan Peninsula in Camarines Sur, the fastest-rising sea-and-sand destination in tourists’ lists of must-see places.

Caramoan is for barkadas, or cliques, if you may. Package tours are slowly gaining popularity, and we lost no time in grabbing one, set by Rex Tourist Inn… details later. Together with six of our friends (Jeremy Braganza, She Laciste-Buena, Tolits Erilla, Mica Maniebo, Yo Muan, Lexie Orapa), plans and updates flew left and right, up until the big day.

We took a gamble and set our escapade right on the wings of the rainy months. As luck would have it, El Sol beat down on the rest of the archipelago on the first week of July, and not a drop of water fell from the sky ’til the end of our trip. Great timing? You bet.
